Inpatient Hospital Staff Pharmacist in Des Plaines, IL

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist position within an inpatient hospital setting located in Des Plaines, IL. This contract role offers a 13-week assignment with potential for extension, providing a dynamic environment to apply your clinical expertise in pharmacy care. The position operates on a rotating schedule between first and second shifts, including weekends.

Schedule:

• Rotating shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM and 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
• Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical pharmacy support in an inpatient hospital environment
• Dispense medications accurately and counsel patients and staff on pharmaceutical therapies
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal medication management and patient safety
• Utilize Cerner pharmacy system for order entry, verification, and clinical documentation

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Illinois Pharmacy License
• Strong clinical experience in an inpatient hospital setting
• Proficiency or experience with Cerner pharmacy systems is highly advantageous
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts and weekends
