Inspire creativity and foster a love for the arts by stepping into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Art Teacher within a vibrant school environment in the Southern Tier region of New York. This in-person position offers a supportive atmosphere focused on nurturing both students’ talent and your professional growth. Your passion for art education will help shape tomorrow’s creative thinkers as you guide learners through engaging projects and developmental milestones.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Current New York State Teaching License with Art endorsements/certifications
  • Proven experience teaching general education and/or art in school settings
  • Flexible and adaptive to various age groups (final age group assignment pending confirmation)
  • Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, able to build rapport with students and colleagues
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Availability for a full academic year, from September 2025 through June 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement dynamic, age-appropriate art curricula
  • Foster an engaging and supportive environment that encourages creativity and artistic expression
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and staff to support holistic student development
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development as needed
  • Uphold state and school standards for safety and student well-being
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare students for exhibitions and presentations
