Key Qualifications:

• Active Special Education Teaching License in NY, meeting all required endorsements and certifications
• Previous experience working with students with Emotional Disabilities (ED), preferably at the high school level
• Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to individualized learning
• Excellent communication abilities, collaborative attitude, and adaptability
• Passion for cultivating an inclusive, nurturing classroom for all learners

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily instruction to high school students in a specialized classroom setting, supporting emotional and academic needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal guidelines
• Employ differentiated instructional strategies, adapting to students’ diverse learning styles
• Collaborate with parents, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success
• Foster a supportive, safe, and engaging learning atmosphere
• Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and behavior plans
