Special Education Teacher in Bedford, NH

A dedicated contract special education teacher is needed to serve students in 2nd and 5th grade across two school locations near Bedford, NH, from August 2026 through June 2027. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, working between 32 and 37.5 hours weekly. You'll play a vital role in shaping educational experiences and outcomes, managing a caseload of approximately 15 students in need of specialized support and instruction.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification in Special Education required
• Previous experience with elementary special education (grades 2 and/or 5 preferred)
• Strong background in IEP development, case management, and parent communication
• Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction to meet diverse learning needs
• Effective collaboration skills with classroom educators, administrators, and support staff
• Excellent organizational and documentation abilities

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and small group special education instruction for students with varying needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations
• Collaborate with general educators and specialists to deliver inclusive programming
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and strategies for support
• Maintain up-to-date records, assessment data, and progress notes
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages student growth
