Job Description
Step into a meaningful role supporting the youngest learners by providing essential early childhood special education services. As a long-term substitute for the preschool special education classroom, you will have the opportunity to shape a nurturing learning environment while helping children achieve developmentally appropriate milestones. This full-time contract position commences on August 25, 2026, and lasts for approximately 12 weeks, offering a rewarding and dynamic challenge in an inclusive educational setting.
Your expertise in implementing individualized instruction will help ensure that every student’s unique needs are met. You'll collaborate with supportive colleagues and families to maximize engagement and outcomes for preschoolers with disabilities and developmental delays.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications:
- Valid teaching licensure in special education (early childhood endorsement preferred)
- Experience providing specialized instruction to preschool or early intervention students
- Strong working knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and ability to manage related documentation
- Familiarity with developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies
- Enthusiastic communicator skilled in working with young children and their support teams
- Genuine excitement for fostering an inclusive classroom where each child can thrive
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and therapeutic activities for preschool students with diverse needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in collaboration with additional staff and families
- Maintain a safe, welcoming, and supportive classroom environment
- Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to engage all learners
- Partner with related service providers and paraprofessionals for comprehensive support
