Special Education Teacher in Manchester, NH

Step into an influential teaching opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year shaping the educational experiences of students with diverse needs. Two contract positions are available serving 5th and 6th grade special education students in a supportive school setting near Manchester, NH, from August through June. You’ll work full-time, Monday through Friday, for 32-37.5 hours weekly.

Opportunities available:

• Resource Room Special Education Teacher: Guide a caseload of approximately 15 students through grade-level curriculum, fostering individualized growth and inclusion.
• Life Skills/Intensive Needs Teacher: Lead a self-contained classroom supporting 3 students with complex medical needs and/or autism spectrum disorders. Each student is assigned their own paraprofessional for optimal support.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification (or eligibility)
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary or middle grade students
• Background in one or more of the following: resource room instruction, intensive needs/life skills, complex medical needs, autism spectrum
• Collaborative communication style with teaching teams, paraprofessionals, families, and support staff
• Flexibility, dedication, and commitment to individualized education plans

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement specialized instructional plans per student IEPs
• Provide academic, social, and behavioral support tailored to individual learners
• Maintain records, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings
• Partner with paraprofessionals, therapists, and related service providers
• Engage families in the learning process and champion student advocacy
