Transform learning for students as a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a contract role spanning the 2026-2027 academic year. This engaging position offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference—empowering visually impaired learners by developing and delivering individualized instruction onsite.

In this role, you'll collaborate closely with teaching teams, families, and educational specialists to create accessible learning experiences. Whether seeking full-time or part-time hours, you’ll find a supportive environment focused on student growth and inclusion.

Requirements:

  • Valid Visually Impaired Teacher (VI Teacher) License
  • Active MA Department of Education (DOE) license
  • Successful completion of all relevant MTELs
  • Experience working with children and youth who are visually impaired is preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with visual impairments
  • Adapt general education curricula and materials for accessibility
  • Participate in the creation and execution of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed
  • Collaborate with other educators, families, and related service providers
  • Offer consultative support and professional development for school staff
  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding services for students with disabilities
