Based in a vibrant Texas community, this on-site position entails working across multiple locations with an adaptable caseload that will be finalized before the start date.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12 students who are visually impaired is highly preferred
- Familiarity with IEP processes and specialized instructional strategies
- Strong collaboration skills for working with educational staff, families, and related service providers
- Flexibility to float between school sites as needed
- Outstanding communication, advocacy, and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting teaching methods to each learner’s needs
- Assess students’ functional vision and learning requirements in partnership with multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in IEP development meetings and create appropriate instructional materials
- Provide training and support to classroom teachers and families to foster inclusivity and accessibility
- Maintain detailed, compliant records and progress documentation
- Act as a resource within the school community to guide best practices in accessibility and visual impairment education
