Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Fayetteville, North Carolina

In this contract role, you will work onsite, delivering specialized instruction and services to 20-23 students with diverse needs. This is a fully onsite position providing 37.5 hours per week of direct engagement and collaboration, running from ASAP through May 2027—perfect for passionate educators eager to make a lasting difference.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license and current certifications required
• Experience working with students who have a range of visual impairments, preferably within an educational environment
• Ability to adapt instructional methods and materials to accommodate individual student needs
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers
• Organization and flexibility to manage caseload effectively in a dynamic school setting

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized and group instruction aligned to students’ educational plans
• Conduct assessments to determine the extent of vision impairment and recommend accommodations or technologies
• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student
• Advocate for and coordinate assistive technology implementation in classrooms
• Offer guidance and training to educational staff on supporting visually impaired students
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student goals, progress, and strategies for home reinforcement
