Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Little Elm, Texas

In this full-time, onsite role, you’ll partner with school professionals to provide specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments. You will serve floating positions within a district and have the opportunity to engage with a diverse caseload, which will be determined upon placement. This contract opportunity runs through the end of the school year, allowing you to apply your expertise and build lasting connections.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Previous experience teaching or supporting students with visual impairments in K-12 settings
• Knowledge of Braille, accessible technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, families, and educational specialists
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Flexibility to work in a floating role and adapt to varying assignments

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized education and develop lesson plans for students with visual impairments
• Consult with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and classroom environment for accessibility
• Provide direct instruction based on students’ IEPs and monitor progress
• Coordinate and recommend adaptive technology, materials, and resources to facilitate learning
• Conduct assessments and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all regulations
