Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Denton, Texas

Make a difference in the lives of students by providing essential educational support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. You’ll work onsite in a supportive, school-based setting, floating between assignments with the opportunity to impact diverse learners. This full-time contract role offers flexibility as the caseload will be established upon start, allowing you to leverage your expertise where it’s needed most.

Key Qualifications:

• Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
• Previous experience supporting visually impaired students in a school environment preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to travel between sites as needed.
• Commitment to fostering student independence and academic growth.

What You'll Do:

• Deliver direct specialized instruction to visually impaired students, adapting curriculum and materials as necessary.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other support staff to ensure inclusive educational experiences.
• Conduct ongoing student assessments and contribute to Individual Education Program (IEP) development and meetings.
• Provide consultation, training, and resources to staff regarding adaptive techniques and assistive technology.
• Maintain accurate records and comply with all district and state mandates.
• Regularly move among locations as a floating instructor to serve student needs.
