Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Cibolo, Texas

Make an impact in students’ lives while utilizing your Sign Language Interpreter skills in a supportive educational setting. This contract opportunity focuses on working one-on-one or in small group settings with students from Pre-K through 8th grade. The assignment is on-site and requires a dedicated specialist to serve at a single campus, offering consistency and continuity throughout the school year.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID), or Texas Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (BEI I or II under the previous system, or Basic under the current system)
• Experience interpreting for students in an educational setting, preferably with students ages PK-8
• Must complete district fingerprinting and background check prior to start
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and parents
• Availability for a contract beginning as soon as possible through May 26, 2027
• Commitment to an on-site role

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students as assigned by the campus, ensuring clear communication in classroom and school activities
• Facilitate communication between students and teachers, peers, and other staff
• Support students’ access to curriculum, classroom instruction, and school events
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and commitment to students’ educational goals
• Participate in any required meetings and maintain accurate records if necessary
