Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity designed for a skilled School Psychologist eager to support students from Pre-K through 8th grade. Based near Arlington Heights, IL, this position focuses on evaluations, process oversight, and collaboration, all within a supportive district environment.

This role is housed at the district office, allowing you to concentrate on assessment and programmatic functions, rather than direct daily student or staff interventions typical of building-based psychologists. You will primarily lead domain meetings, complete comprehensive evaluations, oversee Early Intervention (EI) transitions—including TPBA coordination—and participate in MTSS referral meetings as needed.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Illinois PEL with a School Psychologist endorsement; consideration given to candidates with pending licensure
  • Previous experience or a strong foundation in conducting comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations
  • Familiarity with MTSS processes and transitions from Early Intervention to school-based support is a plus
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run and facilitate domain meetings for student assessments
  • Conduct evaluations as part of a manageable caseload focused exclusively on assessments (63 completed last year)
  • Oversee EI transition processes and coordinate TPBA (17 transitions managed previously)
  • Attend and contribute to MTSS referral meetings for individual students as necessary

Perks of the Role:

  • Consistent, school-based schedule from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
  • Dedicated support from district leadership in a specialized role
  • Opportunity to focus on high-impact evaluation and transition work
  • Contract position with a clear timeline through June 19, 2027

Bring your expertise and make a meaningful impact on student pathways while working with a seasoned administrative team. If you’re an organized, motivated School Psychologist ready for the next step, apply today to elevate educational outcomes for students across the district!

Compensation for this position ranges from $44.92 to $64.92. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
