Key Qualifications:

• National or state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled in transliterating and interpreting in educational settings
• Previous experience working as an interpreter in a school or youth-centered environment preferred
• Ability to interact with students, educators, and families with patience and professionalism
• Understanding of confidentiality, special education processes, and student support best practices
• Reliable transportation to and from Bradley, IL, or surrounding areas

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and extracurricular activities in real time for students and staff
• Adapt signing to meet the individual communication needs of students from elementary through high school
• Collaborate with general and special education staff to provide seamless support across academic content areas
• Support inclusive, positive learning environments by facilitating active student participation
