Step into a pivotal support role at a specialized educational site serving students from elementary through high school, where every day is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. This contract position is located near Maple Grove, MN, with a focus on providing dedicated assistance in a Setting 4 environment—supporting students enrolled in special education throughout their entire school day. Candidates must be comfortable working with individuals with the most significant disabilities and high behavioral needs, as well as assisting with toileting and personal care.

What you bring:

  • Must be Highly Qualified—either pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Exam or hold a minimum of 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas are not accepted).
  • Prior experience as a school paraprofessional or behavior support staff, especially within special education settings, is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to assist students with all aspects of daily care, including personal hygiene.
  • Adaptability and emotional resilience required in high-needs, behavior-focused environments.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with staff and caregivers.
  • Resume and proof of qualification (transcripts or exam results) must accompany your application.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional, behavioral, and personal support to students receiving special education services all day.
  • Collaborate with licensed teachers, therapists, and other staff to enhance each student’s learning experience.
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
  • Assist with toileting and personal hygiene tasks as needed.
  • Depending on preference, support students across elementary, middle, or high school levels.
