Job Description
Embark on a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a paraprofessional at Wilson Elementary near Anoka, MN. This contract position offers three openings: one Center-Based role and two Resource/Setting 1 & 2 positions, all vital to serving students in a collaborative, caring school environment. This is a 90-day contract with the possibility of converting to a direct hire position after 422 contract hours.
Enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule (32.5 hours per week), working from 9:10 AM to 4:10 PM. Resource/Setting 1 & 2 paraprofessionals typically engage with one grade in the morning, then another in the afternoon, ensuring a dynamic and diverse experience each day.
Key Qualifications:
- Highly qualified status required by one of the following:
- Passing the Minnesota Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam)
- At least 60 college credits (official college transcripts required; diplomas are not acceptable)
- Ability and willingness to assist with toileting as needed
- Resume and highly qualified documentation must be provided for district consideration
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver dedicated support to students in assigned settings, fostering academic and personal growth
- Assist teachers and educational staff in classroom management and instructional activities
- Offer care and attention to students’ varying needs, including personal care as necessary
- Flexibly serve multiple grade levels, adapting to the evolving demands of each classroom
