Special Education Teacher in Bear, DE

With opportunities available across elementary, middle, and high school sites, this role offers a dynamic environment in which to foster growth and support for learners with diverse needs.

Role highlights:

• Contract duration: August 25, 2026, through June 8, 2027
• Full-time, 35 hours per week
• Work schedule aligns to the school’s calendar, Monday through Friday
• Hours vary by site:
  • Elementary: 8:30am–4:00pm
  • Middle: 7:10am–3:10pm
  • High: 7:15am–2:45pm

Primary qualifications:

• Valid Delaware Special Education Teacher license (must be presented with application)
• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities in an educational setting
• Familiarity with IEP processes, differentiation strategies, and data-driven instruction
• An adaptable, collaborative, and patient approach to education
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality special education services in an onsite school setting
• Manage an assigned caseload, customize instruction, and develop/implement IEPs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and school staff to maximize student success
• Monitor progress, maintain records, and communicate effectively with stakeholders
• Support inclusion and foster a positive classroom environment
