Special Education Teacher in Hanover, PA

This full-time contract assignment calls for two dedicated Special Education Teachers to provide direct instructional support to students in Autistic Support Rooms at a learning center. With a Monday through Friday schedule (7:45 am–3:15 pm) from August 2026 through June 2027, this opportunity allows educators to focus fully on their students’ progress throughout the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique strengths and needs
• Deliver evidence-based instruction to students with autism spectrum disorders in a safe, inclusive classroom environment
• Collaborate closely with classroom aides, therapists, and related service providers to support student learning
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Collect and analyze progress data to guide instructional decisions
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and strategies for success
• Participate in professional development, pre-trainings, and adhere to all district and state guidelines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania teaching certificate in Special Education
• Experience working with students with autism or similar populations is highly desirable
• Strong understanding of evidence-based strategies for supporting students with developmental and behavioral needs
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to fostering a positive and respectful learning environment for all students
• Ability to maintain compliance with state and local guidelines, including the completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances
