Special Education Teacher in Hanover, PA

Make a difference in students’ lives as an onsite Special Education Teacher for a learning center near Hanover, PA. This contract role offers you the opportunity to support a dedicated team focused on exceptional education in Autistic Support classrooms. Positions start as soon as all required Pennsylvania clearances and pre-trainings are complete, running from August 2026 through June 2027.

Key Requirements:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification for Pennsylvania
• Experience or strong interest in working with students who have autism spectrum disorders
• Ability to adapt to changes in classroom assignments and student needs
• Commitment to providing a supportive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Completion of all required Pennsylvania clearances before start date
• Willingness to participate in assigned pre-employment training through the Intermediate Unit

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction to students in Autistic Support Rooms
• Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with support staff and families
• Use evidence-based strategies to promote academic and behavioral growth
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of student progress
• Foster a positive, safe, and respectful classroom culture
• Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related services providers, and other educational team members
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and caregivers regarding student achievement and needs

Work Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
• August 2026 through June 2027
