As you support students at the middle and high school level, you’ll engage with diverse teaching methods, leadership styles, and educational philosophies, adding impressive experiences to your resume. What You’ll Need:

  • Current Adapted Curriculum license required for Discovery School position
  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher in school settings
  • Dedication to supporting students with significant disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and families

What You’ll Do:

  • Teach and support 15-18 students with high-level autism or resource/inclusion needs, aligned with extended content standards
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment across multiple schools—Discovery School, Third Creek Middle, and West Iredell High
  • Monitor progress, document outcomes, and participate in team meetings
