Make a meaningful impact on the lives of young adults as a Special Education Teacher in a transition classroom setting for ages 18-22. This opportunity offers a full-time, onsite role for the 2026-2027 school year near the Kent/Auburn area, supporting students as they gain critical life and vocational skills for independence.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington Special Education Teacher license and ESA certificate (please verify upon submission)
  • Previous school-based special education teaching experience strongly preferred
  • Experience or interest in working with transition-aged students (18-22)
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to adapt to a diverse learning environment
  • Commitment to fostering a supportive and empowering classroom atmosphere
  • Willingness to complete the BIE adjudication process (may cause a minor delay in start date, running parallel to credentialing)
  • Availability for a full-time schedule (37.5 hours per week), onsite only

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans for students in the transition program
  • Deliver instruction in academics, daily living skills, and vocational training
  • Collaborate closely with related service providers, families, and support staff
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies to maximize growth and independence
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment aligned with program goals
  • Participate in professional development sessions and required meetings
