Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Current certification as a Special Education Teacher
- Must have an Adaptive certification
- Experience working in an elementary setting preferred
- Ability to modify instruction and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
- Knowledge of IEP process and legal requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Collaborative spirit and a flexible, student-centered approach
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Utilize adaptive strategies and assistive technology in daily instruction
- Monitor student progress and adjust plans as needed for academic and social growth
- Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to promote inclusion
- Create a positive, safe, and engaging classroom environment
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and goals
- Maintain accurate records in adherence with state and federal guidelines
