Job Description
Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming school year. You’ll join a dedicated team, making a meaningful difference in the lives of approximately 30 students within a resource room setting. This full-time contract role offers consistency and the chance to see the progress your students make from September through February, with the possibility of extending through the remainder of the school year.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Delivering individualized instruction and supports to elementary-level students with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborating with general education teachers and support staff to develop and implement IEPs.
- Monitoring student progress, updating goals, and maintaining detailed documentation.
- Fostering a safe and engaging classroom environment that encourages growth and independence.
- Communicating regularly with families to provide updates and resources.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Current Special Education Teaching Certification for WA.
- An ESA credential obtained through OSPI.
- Experience or enthusiasm for working in a resource room setting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A commitment to empowering students of all abilities to reach their full potential.
You’ll work exclusively onsite, fully integrated into the life of the school community, and enjoy a consistent weekday schedule of 37.5 hours per week.
