Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Washington Special Education (SPED) teaching license
• ESA certificate (must be verified and present at submission)
• Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Demonstrated skills supporting transition-aged students (18-22)
• Commitment to fostering independence and growth in young adults
• Effective communication and collaboration with students, colleagues, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans tailored for a transition classroom
• Provide direct instruction and support in academic, vocational, and life skills
• Collaborate with related service providers, school staff, and families
• Document student progress; maintain compliance with IEPs and state standards
• Foster an engaging, supportive classroom environment that promotes self-advocacy and independence
• Participate in professional development and ongoing training
• Coordinate and communicate consistently to ensure a smooth and meaningful educational experience for every student
