Occupational Therapist School Setting in Kansas City, MO

This opportunity is ideal for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) looking to make a lasting difference in schools near Kansas City, MO. This contract position spans several school sites from late August through mid-December, supporting a diverse and rewarding caseload.

As you plan your own schedule—with guidance at the beginning of the year—you’ll be responsible for delivering direct services to approximately 32 students across multiple sites each week, totaling around 800 therapy minutes. You'll collaborate with educators and school teams to create individualized support strategies that enable students to thrive in their classrooms and beyond.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) or COTA license in Missouri
• Previous experience in school-based or pediatric settings is preferred
• Strong organizational skills to independently manage a multi-site caseload
• Excellent communication skills for interdisciplinary collaboration
• Commitment to fostering positive student outcomes

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to assigned students
• Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
• Ensure all students on your caseload are served each week, meeting required therapy minutes
• Work closely with teachers and staff to integrate therapeutic goals into the classroom environment
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with state and district requirements
