Bring your skills as a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to an engaging contract opportunity in the Kansas City area for the upcoming school semester. As a school-based OT, you’ll have the unique chance to independently manage your own schedule, collaborating with support at the start of the year to ensure each student on your caseload is served weekly. You’ll provide therapeutic interventions for approximately 32 students, equating to 800 minutes of direct service per week. Assignments span several sites, offering both variety and a dynamic work environment.
Qualifications:
- Current and active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Missouri
- School-based experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work collaboratively with educational staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible, organized, and self-motivated
- Passion for supporting children and young adults in their educational journey
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate students’ occupational therapy needs within the school setting
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support educational goals
- Track and document student progress, maintaining compliance with all educational and regulatory guidelines
- Participate in meetings and consult with school staff and families as needed
- Travel between assigned elementary, middle, and high school locations as scheduled
