A healthcare facility in White Plains, New York, is seeking a Per Diem Registered Pharmacist for a direct-hire opportunity. This role involves providing pharmaceutical services within a hospital setting, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and pharmacy staff to ensure safe and high-quality patient care. The pharmacist will function under pharmacy leadership oversight and play a critical role in medication management and team coordination.

Employment Type: Direct Hire, Per Diem
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Alternate work schedule; hours vary
Scheduled Hours: 24 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
  • Review medication orders for accuracy, safety, and appropriateness based on patient profiles
  • Provide pharmaceutical services in compliance with hospital policies and professional standards
  • Promote medication education, patient safety, and uphold patient rights
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members
  • Adhere to infection control, performance improvement, and risk management procedures
  • Exercise sound clinical judgment and prioritize tasks efficiently
  • Oversee and direct pharmacy assistants and pharmacy transporters
  • Demonstrate flexibility with staffing needs and changing assignments
  • Implement cost-containment strategies in pharmaceutical services
  • Engage in training, in-services, departmental projects, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform other pharmacy-related duties as assigned by leadership
Qualifications and Desired Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Active New York pharmacist license in good standing upon hire
  • Knowledge of medication-delivery systems and medical terminology
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and customer service excellence
  • Availability to work an alternate schedule with varying daytime hours
