Inpatient Hospital Staff Pharmacist - Cicero, IL

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This opportunity is for a Staff Pharmacist to support inpatient clinical services in a hospital environment. The position involves rotating first and second shifts over a 13-week contract period, with the possibility of extension. Candidates will work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure safe, effective medication use for hospitalized patients.

Location: Cicero, IL
Duration: 13 weeks, potential for extension
Schedule:

• Rotating first shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Rotating second shift: 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
• Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide pharmaceutical care in an inpatient hospital setting, including clinical interventions and medication management.
• Support medication reconciliation and ensure accurate dispensing and administration of medications.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
• Utilize Cerner electronic health record system to document clinical interventions and medication orders.
• Monitor patient responses to medications and adjust therapy as needed.

Qualifications:

• Illinois pharmacy license required.
• Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience preferred.
• Proficiency or experience with Cerner electronic health records is a plus.
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced hospital environment.
