Staff Pharmacist | Elgin, Illinois

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility is seeking a knowledgeable and dedicated Staff Pharmacist to support its inpatient hospital pharmacy operations on a contract basis. This role involves working a rotating schedule between first and second shifts, ensuring seamless pharmaceutical services and patient care within the hospital environment.

Location:

• Elgin, IL

Schedule:

• Rotating first and second shifts
• First shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Second shift: 2:30 PM – 10:00 PM
• Rotating weekends
• Contract duration: 13 weeks with potential extension

Responsibilities:

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently to inpatient units
• Provide clinical pharmaceutical support to healthcare teams
• Monitor patient medication therapies to promote safety and effectiveness
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff regarding medication management
• Utilize Cerner electronic medical record systems to process prescriptions and document interventions

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid Illinois pharmacy license
• Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience is highly desired
• Experience with Cerner pharmacy systems is a plus
• Ability to adapt to a rotating shift schedule and provide excellent patient care around the clock
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a healthcare setting
