Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide expert pharmaceutical care as a Staff Pharmacist in an inpatient hospital setting, working a rotating 1st and 2nd shift schedule over a 13-week contract with potential for extension. This role requires strong clinical knowledge to support patient safety and effective medication management within a dynamic healthcare environment.

Job Type: Contract (13 weeks, possible extension)
Environment: Inpatient Hospital
Shifts:

  • Rotating 1st shift: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Rotating 2nd shift: 2:30 PM - 10:00 PM
  • Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services on inpatient units, ensuring accurate medication administration and optimizing therapeutic outcomes
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to review and verify medication orders and resolve any discrepancies
  • Utilize the Cerner electronic health record system to document and manage patient medication profiles (experience with Cerner is a plus)
  • Monitor patient responses and communicate effectively with the healthcare team regarding medication therapy plans
  • Participate in clinical rounds to support evidence-based practices and patient-centered care

Desired Qualifications:

  • Illinois pharmacy license in good standing
  • Strong inpatient clinical pharmacy experience
  • Familiarity with hospital-based pharmacy operations and protocols
  • Experience with Cerner pharmacy system is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
