Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid state teacher certification with endorsement as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students who are blind or have visual impairments
• Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) planning for students with visual needs
• Proficiency in Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive materials for instructional delivery
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, educators, and support staff
• Passion for advocating for inclusive educational experiences

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Provide direct and consultative instructional services to students with visual impairments in a variety of educational settings
• Assess student needs and develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each learner
• Adapt classroom materials and curriculum for accessibility, including the preparation of Braille, large print, and digital resources
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general educators, therapists, and administrators, to foster student success
• Offer guidance and training to staff and parents regarding best practices, resources, and advocacy
• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
