Step into a meaningful opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting students at the elementary level in a well-respected district near Bellevue, WA. This full-time, contract role covers the entire academic year from late August 2026 through mid-June 2027. You’ll work with the LRC1 caseload, providing instruction and support tailored to each child’s unique needs, and helping to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State Special Education Teacher License and Certification
  • Willingness to obtain, or current possession of, fingerprint clearance through OPSI
  • Experience working in special education teams, at the elementary level is a plus
  • Strong skills in differentiated instruction and behavior management
  • Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with diverse learning needs in an LRC1 setting
  • Collaborate and consult with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
  • Write and maintain compliant IEPs, tracking student progress and goals
  • Engage families and caregivers to promote student success
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Attend required staff meetings, professional development sessions, and parent conferences
