Physical Therapist - School Setting in Jersey City, NJ

Make a difference supporting students across a district-wide setting with this full-time contract opportunity for a Physical Therapist in the greater Jersey City, NJ area. This role spans multiple schools serving K-12 populations and offers the chance to collaborate with varied teams to help students reach their fullest physical potential. You’ll work 35 hours per week during regular school hours from 8:30 AM to 3:15 PM, with the assignment starting September 4, 2026, and ending on June 25, 2027.

Qualifications:

• Valid New Jersey Physical Therapist license required
• Experience in a school-based environment preferred
• Ability to work with students across all grade levels (K-12)
• Completion or willingness to obtain required district documentation, including:
  • Current TB test
  • Physical screening
  • Fingerprinting for both the agency and the school district
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Flexible and adaptable to working in multiple school settings

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver physical therapy services to students with diverse needs, developing individualized plans to promote independence and participation
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students’ physical abilities and needs
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and related service providers to support IEP goals
• Cover multiple schools within the district as assigned, ensuring consistent service delivery
• Maintain thorough documentation and comply with all state and district regulations
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development and review of student goals
