School Occupational Therapist - Canton, Michigan

Make a meaningful impact on student success as an Occupational Therapist supporting schools in the Canton, MI area. This contract opportunity runs from September to December, with the possibility of extension should a direct hire not be in place by year’s end. You’ll work closely with educators and families to enhance student development, address barriers to learning, and foster an inclusive environment.

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution
• Valid licensure to practice occupational therapy in Michigan
• Previous experience delivering OT services in a school setting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development and implementation processes
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with multidisciplinary teams, students, and parents
• Ability to organize workload and manage multiple priorities effectively

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive OT assessments and evaluations for students requiring support
• Design and implement individualized intervention plans aligned to students’ IEP goals
• Provide direct therapy services within classroom and small group settings
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to adapt learning environments and recommend classroom modifications
• Consult with families regarding strategies and activities to reinforce skill development at home
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and compliance paperwork
• Participate in IEP and student support meetings as needed
