Job Description
Make a meaningful impact as an Occupational Therapist working with K-12 students near Detroit, MI on a contract basis. You’ll collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to create a supportive environment tailored to the diverse needs of each child.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license in Michigan
- Experience working within school-based or pediatric settings preferred
- Familiarity with current best practices for school OTs
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload across K-12 grade levels
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess students to determine their unique needs and develop individualized treatment plans
- Work one-on-one and in small groups to provide therapy focused on fine motor, sensory, and functional life skills
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to integrate OT goals into classroom routines
- Document evaluations, progress, and services in accordance with school and state guidelines
- Participate in IEP and multidisciplinary team meetings as a supportive advocate for student achievement
- Offer professional recommendations to support school accommodations and modifications
