Licensed Practical Nurses passionate about pediatric care are encouraged to explore a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in educational settings. This role is perfect for those who thrive in environments where care and compassion create brighter futures. With several openings available, you’ll work an enriching 37.5-hour week within vibrant school communities.

In this dynamic position, nurses support students with a range of medical needs, including diabetes management, seizure response, and assistance for medically fragile children. Candidates should be comfortable with procedures such as bus riding, toileting, diapering, G-tube feeding, and tracheostomy care. Flexibility and adaptability are key, as you may work with students from varied backgrounds across both elementary and middle school settings.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current LPN/LVN license issued by the state of Virginia (required)
  • Previous experience in a school or pediatric environment strongly preferred
  • Confidence and capability when supporting students with complex health challenges
  • Familiarity with diabetic care, seizure protocols, tube feedings, tracheostomy care, and mobility support
  • Comfort assisting with toileting and personal care tasks
  • Patient, compassionate, and skilled in building rapport with children and school staff

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct nursing care to students, including medication administration, diabetes management, and seizure monitoring
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare professionals to support individualized care plans
  • Maintain detailed, accurate health records in compliance with privacy laws and school policies
  • Provide safe transportation for medically fragile students on school buses as needed
  • Respond professionally and promptly to emergent health situations during the school day
