Pharmacist - Locust Grove, Virginia

A healthcare facility in Northern Virginia is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to support their inpatient pharmacy team at a 400-bed medical center. This contract opportunity, starting ASAP, offers the possibility to transition to a permanent role after the initial 13-week assignment.

Location:

• Northern Virginia, near Fredericksburg and Locust Grove, VA

Schedule:

• Primarily 8-hour second shifts on the contract side

Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders ensuring accuracy and safety
• Supervise pharmacy technicians to maintain efficient operations
• Consult with physicians, nurses, and other medical staff regarding medication therapy
• Perform pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring to optimize patient care
• Utilize IT systems including EPIC and Pyxis to manage pharmacy workflows

Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist with inpatient pharmacy experience
• Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations in a 400+ bed facility setting
• Proficient in EPIC electronic health records and Pyxis automated medication dispensing systems
• Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Ability to maintain high standards of patient safety and regulatory compliance
