Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in education by supporting students as an Art Therapist for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity spans from August 19th through June 4th, working onsite at various locations within a welcoming district near New Market, MD. With a manageable caseload of 15 students, you’ll have ample opportunity to provide individualized attention that fosters growth and well-being.

Key Qualifications:

  • Must possess active state licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
  • Previous experience in school-based therapy or art therapy settings strongly preferred
  • Compassionate communicator able to engage with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Skilled in developing creative, individualized therapeutic interventions
  • Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong organizational skills to manage caseload and documentation

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct art therapy services to students, fostering emotional and social development
  • Assess students’ needs and tailor interventions to support IEP or 504 plan goals
  • Document progress and maintain confidentiality in accordance with district protocols
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school staff to maximize student success
  • Participate in IEP meetings and provide insights as part of a collaborative support team
  • Maintain a safe and supportive environment conducive to students’ growth and creativity
