This full-time, two-month leave position focuses on providing physical therapy services to a diverse K-12 student caseload. Preferred Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT) in New York State
- Previous experience working in schools or with pediatric populations is highly valued
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with multidisciplinary teams, parents, and educators
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Adaptability and comfort managing a dynamic caseload of students in grades K-12
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy interventions tailored to students’ individual needs, fostering improved mobility and participation in school activities
- Complete timely evaluations and develop treatment plans consistent with educational goals
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional input and recommending strategies for student success
- Maintain thorough records and progress notes in accordance with state and district requirements
- Consult and collaborate with teachers and staff to integrate therapy objectives into the classroom environment
- Provide guidance and education to families regarding supportive strategies at home
