Special education professionals are in high demand for the upcoming school year, with multiple contract opportunities available across grade levels. If you’re dedicated to supporting students with diverse needs and hold an active Kansas teaching license, consider advancing your career in a dynamic and rewarding educational setting. Positions begin in August 2026 and run through May 2027, offering the unique chance to impact lives from elementary through high school, including specialized alternative programs.

What we’re looking for:

  • Active Kansas Special Education teaching license appropriate to grade level (must be verified prior to placement)
  • Experience working with students in life skills, autism, or behavioral classrooms
  • Flexibility to teach at elementary, middle, high school, or bridges alternative programs (specific preference can be indicated)
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive classroom environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Previous K-12 special education teaching experience preferred

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality, individualized instruction tailored to students’ specific needs in life skills, autism, or behavior-focused settings
  • Developing and implementing IEPs in collaboration with educational teams
  • Creating a classroom culture that promotes growth, safety, and success for all students
  • Communicating regularly with families and support staff
  • Maintaining accurate records and ongoing progress documentation
  • Employing positive behavioral interventions and supports
