What You’ll Bring:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification
- Experience supporting students in a secondary setting
- Expertise in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong organizational skills to track and report on student progress
- Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies tailored to unique learners
- Ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Teach as a Secondary Structured Learning Classroom (SLC) Special Education Teacher
- Design and execute effective lesson plans following each student’s IEP
- Track and regularly report on students’ academic and behavioral progress
- Collaborate with support staff and related service providers to address intensive needs
- Communicate progress and challenges with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Adapt instruction to ensure all students can participate and grow in a supportive classroom
- Encourage student independence, self-advocacy, and engagement
