Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Kansas teaching license with an endorsement in Elementary Education or High Incidence Special Education (required for new Kansas teachers)
- Experience working with students with learning disabilities, behavior needs, or mild/moderate disabilities preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning needs and create positive classroom environments
- Commitment to professional growth and inclusive education practices
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and academic intervention as an Elementary Resource Teacher
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teams
- Assess student progress and adapt strategies to maximize growth and engagement
- Utilize evidence-based interventions to address behavioral and academic challenges
- Foster a supportive, inclusive classroom environment for learners with diverse needs
- Communicate regularly with families, general education staff, and related service providers
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in required meetings
