Step into a meaningful role as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing and make an impact supporting students in a school setting near Spanaway, Washington. Key Qualifications:

  • Hold an active Washington state teaching license, certified for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
  • Demonstrated experience or training in working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom culture
  • Strong collaboration skills for working with school staff, families, and related service providers
  • Familiarity with current educational technology and tools to support diverse learners
  • Excellent communication and advocacy abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instructional services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in accordance with their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies to meet unique learning needs
  • Partner closely with general education teachers, interpreters, and specialists to promote integration and accessibility
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and state standards
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and professional development activities as needed
