A healthcare facility in White Plains, New York, is seeking a Registered Pharmacist for a per diem direct-hire opportunity. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical services to support safe, high-quality patient care in a hospital setting. Collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals, the pharmacist plays a crucial role in optimizing medication therapy and ensuring patient safety.

Employment Type: Direct Hire, Per Diem
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Alternate work schedule; hours vary
Scheduled Hours: Approximately 24 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Review medication orders against patient profiles to ensure accuracy, safety, and appropriateness
  • Deliver pharmaceutical services in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards
  • Provide age-specific medication education and promote patient safety and rights
  • Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Adhere to infection control, performance improvement, and risk management protocols
  • Apply clinical judgment to prioritize responsibilities and make sound decisions
  • Supervise pharmacy assistants and transporters, providing guidance as needed
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet staffing needs and adapt to changing assignments
  • Implement cost-containment measures consistent with hospital guidelines
  • Participate in training, departmental projects, and continuous performance improvement initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Active pharmacist license in New York, in good standing, required upon hire
  • Working knowledge of medication-delivery systems and medical terminology
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to patient safety, professional accountability, and customer service excellence
  • Willingness to work an alternate schedule with varying daytime hours
