A hospital in White Plains, New York, is seeking a Per Diem Registered Pharmacist for a direct-hire opportunity. This role involves providing expert pharmaceutical services within a dynamic healthcare team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. The position offers an alternate day shift schedule with approximately 24 hours per week, allowing for flexible work hours.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review medication orders against patient profiles for accuracy, safety, and potential interactions
  • Deliver pharmaceutical services in line with hospital policies and professional standards
  • Support patient safety initiatives and provide age-specific medication education
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacy staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Follow infection control, risk management, and performance improvement protocols
  • Utilize clinical judgment to prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Supervise pharmacy assistants and transporters as needed
  • Maintain flexibility to accommodate staffing needs and changing assignments
  • Apply cost-containment strategies in medication management
  • Engage in training, in-services, and departmental quality improvement projects
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by pharmacy leadership

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required
  • Active New York pharmacist license in good standing at the time of hire
  • Working knowledge of medication-delivery systems
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to patient safety and professional accountability
  • Willingness to work an alternate schedule with variable daytime hours
