Special Education Teacher - Pelham, Alabama

Empower students with individualized support in a dynamic educational environment as a Special Education Teacher working within a leading district office virtual learning program near Pelham, AL. This contract opportunity spans through June 2027, with a flexible part-time schedule of 10 to 20 hours weekly. You'll work onsite at the district office, collaborating closely with the Special Education Director and serving a small caseload of approximately seven students—all within a cutting-edge virtual school initiative.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification/licensure
• Demonstrated experience supporting K-12 students in special education settings
• Proven ability to engage and tailor instruction for diverse learners
• Familiarity with virtual or blended school environments strongly preferred
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Effective communication abilities with parents, staff, and district administrators
• Ability to maintain organized documentation and confidentiality at all times

Core Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized special education programming and instruction to a virtual school caseload
• Work collaboratively onsite alongside the Special Education Director and district staff to support student success
• Develop, implement, and track IEPs meeting both student needs and compliance requirements
• Engage in ongoing communication with students, families, and colleagues to monitor progress and promote engagement
• Participate in data collection and progress monitoring for each student
• Support students' social, academic, and behavioral development
