Job Description
Make a real difference supporting students as a Special Education Teacher working onsite with a district-based virtual school program near Pelham, AL. This contract opportunity allows you to work directly from the district office, supporting a small caseload of approximately seven students, while collaborating closely with the Special Education Director.
In this role, you’ll enjoy a part-time, flexible schedule, working 10 to 20 hours per week, with the contract extending through June 2027. The position offers an engaging environment at the crossroads of virtual and onsite education.
Qualifications and Preferred Experience:
- Valid Special Education Teacher license required
- Experience supporting students in a virtual or alternative learning setting strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with school staff and leadership
- Proven ability to develop and implement IEPs
- Dedication to individualized instruction and student growth
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for a caseload of approximately seven students
- Collaborate with the Special Education Director and school personnel
- Work onsite at the district office, supporting the virtual school element as needed
- Ensure compliance with IEPs and maintain accurate documentation
