School Registered Nurse | Mcdonough, Georgia

Seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to provide dedicated 1:1 care for a medically fragile student in a supportive school environment. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a significant impact in a student's life by ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the academic year.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Current, active RN license in the state of Georgia
• Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric settings preferred
• Expertise in managing care for students with complex medical needs (spina bifida, hydrocephalus, head shunt, gastrostomy tube, oxygen)
• Comfortable performing cath changes every three hours, handling mobility assistance, and feeding tube care
• Ability to lift and assist a wheelchair-bound student as necessary
• Reliable and committed to providing consistent onsite care
• Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with school staff and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, attentive 1:1 nursing care to a medically fragile student during school hours
• Administer regular catheter changes, monitor and manage feeding tubes, and provide oxygen as needed
• Assist with safe transfers and physical movement throughout the school day
• Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure a positive and inclusive environment
• Monitor student’s health status and respond to any medical emergencies or changes
• Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and nursing standards
