Qualifications/Experience

  • Valid Special Education Teacher certification (state-appropriate or reciprocal eligibility).
  • Previous experience in resource room or self-contained/intensive needs preferred.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 15 students or support 3 students with complex medical needs/autism spectrum disorders.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Adaptable and enthusiastic about working in travel roles.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialized instruction to 5th and 6th grade students.
  • For the resource room role: manage a caseload, develop and implement IEPs, and foster student growth.
  • For the life skills/intensive needs role: run a self-contained classroom with dedicated paraprofessionals, providing individualized instruction and support.
  • Communicate regularly with families, staff, and administration.
  • Maintain thorough records and ensure compliance with regulations.
