Bring your creative skills to a dynamic school environment, making a difference as an Art Therapist working part-time across various sites in a welcoming district. This contract opportunity spans from August 19th through June 4th, supporting a diverse group of 15 students. As part of a student-centered team, you’ll use art therapy techniques to promote emotional wellness, self-expression, and personal growth for students in grades K-12.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Maryland state licensure through the Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists is required
  • Previous experience as a school therapist or art therapist preferred
  • Background working with children and adolescents in educational or therapeutic settings
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to tailor therapy sessions to individual and group needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver on-site art therapy services for up to 20 hours per week, between 8am and 4pm
  • Assess student needs and design creative interventions to enhance social-emotional well-being
  • Work in collaboration with educators, counselors, and families to establish individualized goals
  • Maintain confidential records, document student progress, and provide regular updates
  • Cultivate a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that fosters creativity and growth
  • Adapt modalities to meet the unique needs of students across various district sites
